Questions before you begin
What is a grow-up wedding slideshow?
A grow-up slideshow, also called a growup slideshow or growing-up slideshow, shares your childhood and life together through photos at your reception. In Hong Kong it is often called a 成長片段. Dear Ever presents those photos within a cinematic setting and arranges the camera, pacing and music.
Can we make a wedding slideshow without editing skills?
Yes. Choose a style, add your names and photos, arrange their order, then create a preview. Dear Ever handles the camera, transitions and pacing, so you don’t need an editing timeline.
How many photos do we need, and how long is the film?
We recommend 30–40 photos for a film of about 3–4 minutes. The length depends on the photo count. For a growing-up film, organise photos into the bride’s childhood, the groom’s childhood and your life together, with at least one photo in each chapter. See our wedding slideshow guide for help choosing and ordering them.
Can we preview before paying?
Yes. Create free draft previews before paying, and change the photos, order and names. Pay when you’re happy to create the final film. Each film costs HK$599 and includes a downloadable, watermark-free 1080p MP4.
Will AI change the people in our photos?
No. We don’t redraw your photos with AI. We preserve the people and content of the originals, with lighting and depth added around them in the scene.
Can we use our own song?
You can upload a song you have the right to use, or choose the default piano soundtrack. We accept MP3, M4A and WAV files up to 20 MB and at least 30 seconds long. We handle the opening silence and volume.
How is this different from a same-day edit?
Dear Ever uses photos you upload, with options for a growing-up film or wedding and pre-wedding photos. A same-day edit usually uses video filmed on the wedding day, so the material and production process differ.
Can we play the final film at our reception?
Yes. Download the 1920 × 1080 MP4 and give it to your venue. Test the picture and sound on the actual computer and screen before the wedding.
